About Me

Welcome to Mindful PE. After teaching for 14 years in the general education classroom (in 5th and 3rd grade), I made the transition to K-5 Physical Education teacher in my building and have never been happier!

Atop Mt. Bierstadt (14,060 ft.)

I recently finished my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training as well as my Children's Yoga Training (RCYT) through Yoga Ed. with a focus in trauma-informed teaching. I am a believer in the power of the mind-body-breath connection and love sharing that with all of my students in unique ways, not just through the traditional yoga asanas (poses).

For the past ten years, I blogged about my general education teacher life at 3rd Grade Thoughts. I have loved being able to connect with hundreds of teachers over the years and share resources and lessons I used in my classroom. While I will continue to maintain that site, my new blogging adventure will take place here at Mindful PE with the same intention and focus.

Here, I look forward to connecting with fellow PE teachers and classroom teachers looking to incorporate movement, mindfulness, and fun into their daily routine. I will be sharing resources and freebies I have found helpful and those I have created myself. You can find lessons and resources in my TpT Store by looking for the Mindful PE section. While you're there, check out my Brain Breaks for use with all students in any environment.

Outside of teaching, I love to hike, read, standup paddleboard, and travel. I am also a lifelong student currently working on my 500-hour Yoga Teacher Certification.

Thank you for joining me here on this new journey! I look forward to connecting with you and making this the best school year for our students. Reach out to me through the comments or via email if you have any questions or suggestions.

Stay well,
